One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams is the first installment of The Sisters Quartet series. Each book is a stand-alone. In this book we are introduced to the Benedict sisters: Anderson (Andi), Calder, her twin Bryce, and Destry. They are wealthy, powerful, smart, beautiful, and each successful in their own right. They appear to have it all, except for the love of a good man. Each of the sisters have a different father, even Calder and her twin. Due to this and their self centered mother, the sisters have a hard time trusting others and an unique bond that enhances the story.

One Way or Another focuses on the romance between Calder and Adam Stone. They keep bumping into each other in the unlikely of places. Neither of them are looking for a relationship, but there is an instant attraction and plenty of flirting. Calder has a hard time trusting men and believing that there are good men, but Adam proves to be a good man that she can trust. Calder in turn helps Adam face things from his past with her caring and understanding nature. For their romance to make it, they have to deal with family and exes. Predictably they make it against all odds.

The story flowed smoothly and had well developed characters. It was an easy and quick read. I enjoyed that along with Calder and Adam’s romance, that we also got to see the bond between the sisters. I liked how Williams described the characteristics of each of the sisters. She shared just enough of each of their stories to make you want to know more about them all.

There were a few minor errors, but nothing that was worth noting or that interrupted the flow of reading. I loved how the cliff-hanger at the end had me ready to jump into the next book in the series and learn more about the Benedict sisters and their flamboyant mom.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams was a great read about struggling to trust love and about an unique sisterly bond with some humor along the way. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of contemporary romance that enjoys a quick, easy, and fun read.
