In Devilish by T.L. Barr, Felicity is an aspiring journalist, much like her aunt Stefeny, who dreams of having her story making the front page of the newspaper. When a comet-like object crashes in Central Park, Felicity receives a story assignment that is her big break. The story that awaits her is more than she expects – the Devil has come to earth. Her assignment - to interview the Devil, Lucifer, himself. Not everyone is pleased with Lucifer’s visit to earth. His visit may have a more catastrophic effect on the world than anyone realizes. Felicity embarks on a journey of the struggle between good and evil; while, struggling with her secret desires for romance.

I loved this book! The story was well written and I only encountered one editing error. The plot was complete and Devilish was a fast and easy read. The author did a very good job tying all of the story line together in an unpredictable manner. T.L. Barr described the setting in a way that was easy to identify the city (New York City) and the time period without it being blatantly stated. I would definitely read this book a second time! I suspect there may be a sequel to this book based on its ending. If this book became a series, it would be a series I would read in its entirety!

One thing I did not like was that the book lacked detailed description about the female lead character’s physical appearance. Likewise, not much detail was given to the supportive characters of the book other than the angels. Also, the author failed to give more background info on the main character, Felicity. However, even though these details are omitted it does not leave the story line lacking in any way.

I gave this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars due to only one editing error. This error consisted of the wrong meaning of a word (i.e. using sew instead of sue). This book was a constant page turner! The story line was great and the characters were complete in their development. It was difficult for me to form negative opinions about this book.

Due to mature (sexual) scenes, I would recommend this book only for adults. Any adult who enjoys super natural, science fiction, and/or romance novels would love Devilish. This book is a “page-turner” from start to finish! Definitely a good choice for a book for the beach!
