Rudy was definitely my favorite character! I loved his open and friendly personality and the way he was so open and ready for anything. The ending completely broke me :( :( !

I liked papa most. He seemed to get along with everyone and he came off as a really understanding and kind person. So full of humanity, he stood up for a neighbor who was literally facing death. His compassion and courage were truly remarkable. I also liked dear Rudy a lot. He is just that friend you would really thank God for. Max too.

Rudy's imagination and kindness won me over. He was such a simple, naive and heartwarming character.

This thread is testimony to the power of this book. So many characters can vie for "favorite" that it's difficult to choose.
