Overall Rating and Opinion of Inferno

What is your overall opinion of the March 2014 book of the month, Inferno by Dan Brown? Would you recommend others read it? Why or why not?

I enjoyed it like all the others, I was surprised by the plot twist even though I've come to expect it from Dan Brown books. It really got me thinking about our population and what the heck we're going to do about it O.o

Would definitely recommend it to others.

I like this book a lot. I loved the feel of science and puzzle in the story. I would recommend this to any mystery or Dan Brown fans.

on another note, this is the only book that made me stop and google all the places and art pieces that they were talking about. I've never done that with a book and really enjoyed it.

Dan Brown is an amazing writer and I loved this book as much if not more than I did the Di Vinci Code. Great story with a great twist. I couldn't put it down.

Dan Brown. Way to come back with a new novel. I didn't enjoy The Lost Symbol anywhere near as much as Angels and Demons or The DaVinci Code so I didn't know what to expect from Inferno, but I loved it! Robert Langdon is a great character and enjoyed this ride. I loved that the central issue was population control, it was a welcome but rude awakening. I definitely recommend it. I googled most of the images, just like some of the other novels and was captivated by the images and the historic information. Dan Brown is just a great writer and he produced another great novel.

I liked his "The DaVinci Code", but think he is repeating himself in his other books. I will pass out this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the plot and characters were strong and interesting and I liked the big twist at the end with Sienna although you always know there will be some sort of twist with Dan Brown so I was always trying to guess what the surprise was going to be.

Dan Brown manages to teach a bit of art, history and culture without boring an uncultured person like myself!
Through Robert Langdons I learnt a lot about art and architecture but it wasn't done in a dull or patronising way e.g. he comments on how many phallic symbols are around in Venice and it makes him laugh!

It is a great fun adventure with a energetic pace that kept me interested and the subject of population control is certainly thought provoking and rather worrying topic. The main flaw is that it is so similar to Angels and Demons and DaVinci Code. That was fine with me as it has been several years since I read them so I enjoyed dipping back into another similar story and I've not come across any other authors who write in this style. However, I think if Dan Brown published another "Robert Langdon saves the world after another crazy treasure hunt" book in the next few months then I might give it a miss.
Overall I'd give it a strong 3 and recommend it as a exciting, fun read but I'd look for something a bit different from the author next time.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the overpopulation concern Brown brings up?

I read the book a couple of months ago and did mean to investigate the subject a bit more as it is certainly a scary proposition but then I never got around to it. I wasn't sure how true all the facts and figures were or if they'd been exaggerated slightly for dramatic effect as I remember when Da Vinci Code came out that some of it is true and some had used a bit of artistic licence. Has anyone else looked into it?

I liked the book and the idea was very different from the previous books, no religious views. It is obvious that when author has written a lot the same pattern repeats itself and so has happened here. After all it was very exciting and eventful and I could not suspect how it was going to end. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good adventure. I believe that Dan Brown has fell for Italy and who wouldn't. Reading his books I can visit Italy time after time in my mind. That is how specific his description from the venues are. In some was I do believe that there are to many people on this earth and it is not a good Thang that people reaches higher ages all the time. There should be room for babies as well. We are drifting too far from natural selection.

I really enjoyed Inferno. It had well developed characters, a great storyline, and the plot twist at the end was amazing. Dan Brown does an amazing job describing the scenery around Venice. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a suspenseful thriller, it really held my attention through the whole book.

I do believe that Angles and Demons will be the next book I read.
