Hourglass wrote:The initial writing is a blast. The rewrite a little funner because you know what you want to fix and where but you don't have think up every single word in the whole MS this time. The next rewrite or so gets repetitive, obviously. Putting it through the critique process brings the fun back, even when your critters find lots of things that need fixed. The read throughs after that, hunting for hidden typo gremlins and commas that appeared or switched places while you were sleeping, can get rather boring.

But in the end, you get to send that one off into the world and start all over with the next story!

When the writing ends...the re-writes begin. And the critiques. And the read-throughs. By the time you kiss it goodbye and send it out into the world, truth be told...you are kind of glad it is over.

Then you start another.
