Bibliography format

After reading several thousand book references on our forum, I thought I might throw in my two bits about proper notation.

Sheesh.   Have I ever been brought up to date!!

It's been 22 years since grad school and 38 since college. Apparently some changes have occurred. During those days of typewritten medieval darkness, a book citation was always underlined. But somewhere along the line the PC came in vogue. Voila! All at once we can italicize.

Technically, author's last name should come first: Smith, Donald.

Anyway, to fall in line with the Modern Language Association, I will venture into the 21st century with references more like:

Sowell, Thomas Conquests and Cultures
