Is there a Book Synopsis Database?
I am new to writting, but i decided to jump right into it as a hobby. I love reading books since forever, and i've been thinking about write since few years ago.
I have pieces of a huge story on my head and I am starting to put them on a paper trying to assemble the puzzle.
The thing is: I really dont want to find later that my story, as I've been thinking for a long time, is somehow like another existing book. I want to make sure that i am creating a whole new scenario and plot, or at least original enough. So I am wondering if i can find some book synopsis database.
Something like search all scifi books synopsis, or all romance books synopsis, and spend some time there, searching. Especialy these two genres.
Is it possible to do? Can anyone tell me how you writers knows if you are writing something new or not?
I thank you very much

But you have point, I cant expect to create something totaly 100% knew, and I am not aiming to that, actualy I am trying to write something that people can say "I never seen anything like that, a really original idea", but of course it will have some familiar elements as it is a sci-fi novel with high technology, space travel and such...
I will change my question:
I will throw some themes i am abording, and I ask you please to tell me if you know some book about it, deal?
->Space Colonies, but NO Aliens, only different human races.
->Brain paranormal activit (things like telekinesis, and such), but not about super powers.
That will be all for now. Thanks again
