I was inspired with an entire novel by a listening of Dvorak's complete Ninth Symphony, "From the New World."

A lot of classical music. Mozart has always inspired me, but just about any of the classic, baroque, and romantic composers give me some great inspiration! :)

I have around 8000 songs on my computer in all genera. Usually, I put on hard rock often interspersed with classical and opera but occasionally I just throw it into random play. Apart from the fact I like these kinds of music, I don't really listen to it. I play this music as it helps me to avoid external interruptions. Playing it loud is my signal that says to others "don't bug me." This lets me get along with my work. :-)

Twenty One Pilots. Mostly songs from their new album (vessel) but I love things from regional at best, also!

Christian contemporary music, I would say. All the lyrics and everything, they just reflect all my thoughts

I'm really into the sad parts of my own works, too. I love listening to sad music for an atmosphere that I can transfer from my imagination to the page. Choir, organ, and, especially, opera are the best for me in that respect. :D

It's usually sad. Sad scenes are kind of my favorite.

I write middle-grade science-fantasy. The most difficult scenes to write, I've found, are the fight scenes. For this reason, when I'm working through those sections, I generally listen to Epic Music for Writing on Youtube. And I've found the group 2 Steps from Hell (not nearly as aggressive as it sounds) to be quite good at sparking my imagination for action scenes.

Anything really. Sometimes I even create a playlist filled with songs that I feel resonates with the book or scene that I'm writing.
