The light's intensity began to pulse and grow, until suddenly a shadowy figure began to develop, as if it was transgressing from another dimension.

She couldn't grasp what was going on around her as one second she was terrified and in the next along with the light and the warmth came a peace she couldn't describe.

She collided with the mini robot and they both slammed into the wall next to her closet door, smashing the robot to pieces and knocking Brineesha out cold.

Dazed, Brineesha lifted her hand to touch the ever swelling knot on her head and looked around nervously at the tiny room she found herself in.

Her head was pounding and was forced to sit back down when she tried to stand. "Sorry about that. Didn't mean to cause you harm" said a gentle voice coming from the corner of the room.

"I have not the time to explain as much I would like," it said. "But you must listen very carefully to my instructions."

Brineesha could see the wispy figure ahead in the crystal light and blinked at its incongruity.

"You are to find a book. Once you have that book, you must give it to me. No resistance and no dallying. Do you understand?"

Brineesha nodded, somewhat puzzled by the softness of its voice.

"The book is called Veritum. Go to the deepest part of the light and bring it back!"

The wisp disappeared, leaving only the light.

"Wait! Crap." Brineesah sat there trying to understand. "The deepest part of the light? What the heck does that mean?" Once again she stood, this time slowly, and looked around the room. Hmmm... Veritum, I'll have to look that up

Brineesah strongly doubted the wisdom of obeying the orders of a (sort of) disembodied voice, but her curiosity compelled her to do so. 'Well', she thought wryly. 'I must be crazy. If this kills me, it's going to be my own fault.' However, first, she had to find a way out of the room.
