I love writing by hand, I have tons of notebooks and composition books. If I need to use the computer, I write it out by hand and then transfer it. Silly right? I tried to use my kindle for typing and that was a nightmare! When I read back what I had written, I was like "What?", it didn't even make sense. I think that little keyboard has a mind of its' own and just puts whatever word it thinks you're going to type in there. Weird!

for writing my stories yes, but for coming up with ideas I prefer pen and paper.

I usually write ideas by hand. The first vestiges of an idea, always. The first time I'm playing with plot ideas, characters, quotes I want to use, that's all by hand. The rest I do on the computer - it's just faster and easier to organize afterwards. I don't think as well using it though.

Nope.

I keep a hand-written journal, and the rare times I try my hand at original fiction, I tend to handwrite. I save the computer for fanfiction.

I prefer to write on paper, but I write on the computer because it is faster and easier to edit. I still write on paper, but it is just research now, not the book itself.

I just can not type on the computer. I love the feel of starting something new in a new notebook. When I write I need it to be something I can take anywhere and not have to worry about the battery running out cause when the ideas begin flowing I don't want to lose where I am headed.

I have to use a computer because otherwise I obsess about the notebook, the pen, my handwriting, the way I write on a page... And it's much harder to change things as I write on paper if I'm editing. I do feel more accomplished when I see my writing on paper, but it's nowhere near as effective

I recently invested in a bluetooth keyboard that I can connect to my android. I've only used it twice, but so far, it is amazing. It folds up and stores in a little pouch, so I can carry it around without it taking up hardly any space. It's smaller than my Kindle! And then I just pop it open, pull out the stand for the phone, and then I can type on a full functional keyboard! I love it so much! Great to have on the go, when I want to get some writing done but can't be bothered to carry my laptop around all day.

I love writing by hand. I have journals, notebooks, various pens and pencils that I use when I write. Although, there are times when I prefer using the computer. But no I do not always or shall I ever just use a computer to write; computers are too distracting for me. However, I recently purchased a chromebook, and I must say that this little laptop is a joy to carry around and type on. Still, I don't think I'll ever just use the computer to write, I enjoy writing by hand way too much.

I usually write out my story by hand. Then I type it out on the computer. Usually when I write I can't be right at the computer, so this situation works well. However, there have been times when I am at the computer, and if it is a short story, I just type it all out at the computer from the beginning.

I always hand write everything first. I went through grad school hand writing everything first, and I had a ton of notebooks filled out with paper ideas and notes. This habit has stayed with me to this very day. I teach high school students, and they all think I'm crazy for hand writing everything first. It has always been much easier for me to type up my writing after I have already written it all out. I made numerous attempts to just type up papers without hand writing anything, but I always found myself looking blankly at the screen.

I almost always write things out by hand first. I just like the feeling of a pencil in my hand over the keyboard. I usually regret hand writing things when it comes time to type it, but I feel like it gives a second chance at editing. There are times when I'm typing something and I realize I forgot a word or the dialogue doesn't make sense and this gives me a chance to change it before I print it out for the edits.

I can do that for ideas, but it would just take me way too long to do that for anything substantial. Which is too bad because I like writing by hand.
