I like to store my work in progress on my hard drive, my tablet, on a thumb drive and in print copy.
Got all the bases covered, I think? :-)

I store everything digitally. If something is not on my computer it is usually on my external hard drive.

Google Docs. I can share them if need be, or allow someone to come in and add notes if I'd like a collaborator.

I save everything to my computer and then it backs up in my google drive periodically. I've also got an external hardrive that I use to back everything up on my computer once in a while. I've lost so many docs in the past I try to keep it from happening as much as possible.

Also making sure autosave is enabled on whatever program I'm working with is super important.

I store everything on my good'ol laptop. I often use an app called 'Evernote' I really recommend this for laptop users who want to make quick notes.

For me personally I just like writing and storing my work on the computer and use different folders with a main folder to keep everything organized like chapters...ideas... characters. I also store on my USB after.

I save everything in Google Drive. As a student it saves my life because I can get to my work anywhere, and as a writer it's so easy to share with people for editing / critiquing / etc.

I generally store it on my laptop because I've lost precious work when I placed it all in dropbox. It was a real heartbreaker. I keep my notes backed up in writing and due to corrupted thumb drives, I don't really back it up anywhere else. I just keep ensuring that my laptop is well-protected and that I take really good care of my laptop as well. But I do backup my computer every once in awhile just in case something happens.

Mostly locally with two backups (I know, this is paranoid :) ), but from time to time I upload it also on google drive. Latter I just use for "checkpoint" versions, i.e. whenever some larger chunk of the work is ready.

My books are stored on the hard drives of my desk top computer and two laptops. I have three memory sticks/flash drives as well. I also have print copies of both of my books, the one already digitally published and the one almost there. Like many other people, I do fear losing my documents, especially on the memory sticks. It's hard to think that anyone could 'steal' your work. I also dread computers completely crashing, taking all my work with them!

I opened a dedicated email account and send a dated copy at the end of my daily writing. Also store a dated copy on a flash drive and save a dated file on my hard drive.
