Lol! Writing a book on the phone (with autocorrect as co-author) would be interesting experiment! You could make a new trend - it would be a hit with the twovel authors! (which is twitter novelm and not towel with weird spelling!) :D

Hello there, writing buddies and everyone else :D Are you going to party hard this Halloween?
Actually this is my way of saying : When are you going to start writing? A friend in my local Nano forum suggested that we start right after midnight and put some words. If I'm not going out (and knowing my social life, I most likely wouldn't lol) I may as well dive in. What about you?

Well... I guess you start writing the next one! :D Or you start promoting your new book.
I must say I never thought so far, and I prefer not. I'd rather concentrate on the writing for the moment, and if I get something finished eventually, I will start planning the next step.
We had a conversation few posts ago, about how Nano supports the participants who match their goals and finish a novel. I saw yesterday that January and February will be "What now?" months. What now, as I wrote a novel, now what?! :D But the information about those activities will go live in December. Maybe there you will find some answers to your questions too.

Did you make a start last night? I put in 1012 words after midnight before going to sleep. Now I've just brewed my coffee and I am sitting to finish my daily quota! :D

I am sure you will catch up soon! Keep that writing cave warm and cozy! :D

Yesterday was a good start, with a total of 2.5k words. I hope to continue like this... tho it is not very likely.

Do any of you use any kind of treats to keep them going, lol? And/or andy kind of gadgets? I love one little app on my phone, writeometer, that divides writing into 25 min sessions. After each session you get a "guava" that you can use to "buy" some sort of treat - because you were sich a good writer, sitting and writing! :D You can set your own treats. I have such as "get a cookie/chocolate", "have a cup of tea/choco/coffee", "listen to three songs" and such. But if you have recommendations for more, I'd be happy to add them - because you can buy one treat only once per day!

I use other stuff too, but it is mostly for organizing. What about you?

Hmm. I never thought about those types of apps. I am only 74 words in so I have much to do. But unfortunately my 3 daughters are not in the mood to let mommy write. I didn't get to write last night because my husband wanted to watch the Walking Dead episode we missed and hadn't seen me all weekend. So starting last night went out the window!

2.5k words! That's a great start! :D

Amy's tip for the day: find your "space" for writing. Write in different spaces aside from where you normally write (it helps if you have a laptop or tablet/phone that can be used for traveling outside of the home -- I have a portable Bluetooth keyboard I can hook up to my phone, best investment I ever made!) and you might find that going outside of your normal zone actually helps get the creative juices flowing.

I've learned that I am actually the LEAST productive when I am at home. Oh, hey look, skittles. Wait, I should probably go start a load of laundry. Ugh, there are no more hangers, so now I have to track down the hangers and see if there are any shirts I can fold up to get some free hangers. See what I mean??

P.S. It's already day 3 here!!!

I have found my creative juices get flowing when I'm driving but can't exactly type when I'm driving! I will probably be doing some write ins to get out of the house. Trying to write with kids running amuck ando my dog laying in my lap and on top of the laptop makes for difficult writing. :)

Hahah, I see your point! Yesterday I had to spend one of my guavas in order to wash the dishes, lol XD

Ah, I need to get myself a keyboard. I used to have a usb one for my tablet... but it was short lived. It broke soon after I bought it. I don't know if I'd use it to actually write novels (hmmm, but I do have those 3 hours bus trips now and then) but I hate the virtual keyboard anyway. I keep missing the letters - and this is when I write on my tablet, what's left when I type on the phone. Ugh!

Oh my, day 3! Good thing I am on the other corner of the world when it comes to time zones! I still haven't started for today.. getting distracted with the forum, lol

That would be my issue every day when it comes to chores. I had a Bluetooth keyboard for my old tablet and I hated it because I still had to deal with autocorrect. I need to get a good small laptop so I don't have to step my husbands. Haha.

Am I insane? I love autocorrect! Sometimes it comes with the most insane things, but for the most part, it tends to help me more than anything. But.... I also use a Japanese phone AND a Japanese version of a word processor! So I think the dictionaries on my gadgets are smaller than a standard dictionary, and it aslso attempts to correct based on words that I frequently use. But I'm also super used to typing with my phone and mini keyboard! I travel a lot for work, so I kind of have no choice when doing my (electronic) paperwork. :D

Anyway, good luck with Day 3, everyone! I'm almost to day 4 now!

Awesome! I wish I could get used to the keyboards and my phone but it just doesn't seem likely. Lol!
I'm a little over 2.5k words I'm hoping by tonight to be close to 4k. :) good luck with day 4!
