Do You Blog?

Post by sleepydumpling »

Do you blog? If you do, why?

I blog on both my MySpace page, and a "stand-alone" blog. I like to blog because it keeps the creative juices flowing, lets me put things "right" in my head and is a place where I can express myself.

My stand-alone blog is at:

Share your blog and why you do it.

I blog because I like writing and I like an audience. I write about the books I read, the music I listen to, my knitting experiences and things related to work. I don't write about personal stuff.

I see my blog as a way to connect to others who share my taste. I review books and Hindi music. Whenever someone leaves a comment thanking for a recommendation or complimenting me on a post, my day is made. Similarly, based on my review, people recommend a book or a song. It works both ways.

I blog as a form of activism and because running good websites is how I make my living.

My two most important blogs are:

World Hunger and Poverty -- subscribe by email

Self-Defense and Violence Prevention Blog -- subscribe by email (I would really appreciate if you subscribed to this one, read it, and leave comments. The other one does not have commenting enabled.)

I'll subscribe to your blogs using RSS.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, both exceptionally worthy causes to blog about, I admire you. Particularly the self-defense/violence prevention. As a child of domestic abuse it's a subject I am passionate about.

I blog, but it's more encompassed around sportswriting. I do it because I love to write my thoughts on sports and provide yet another outlet of insight to people. Since you elicited for a link, here ya go:

I have a 'blog' or whatever you want to call them. I use it mostly for emotional catharsis, philosophical musings and simply because I love writing.

I have thought about having my own blog or creating my own website. I think it would be fun and enjoyable, however I just don't have the time to maintain it all. Eventually I'll get one - especially to get my writings and such out there, but for now, no. Still I have my fanfiction website:

Nice blogs, people! :D :D

Haha... someone else writes fanfiction! I hate to admit it, because I didn't get it for the longest time, and then I started writing one recently.

I blog about my family and guitars. I'm actually thinking about making a blog with other contributing writers to deal with guitars though. I don't want people coming to my blog expecting nothing but guitars and seeing pictures of my daughter chasing bubbles and I don't really want family members going to see pictures of my daughter chasing bubbles and reading about why I think it's ridiculous a distortion pedal is 400.00.
