You review and edit your document a million times before sending off your final manuscript, to find a week later that you had a simple type-o on the first page? Yikes!!!

I have done that!!! And I sear I have editied and editied and spell checked and sometimes the darn program thinks it knows what word I wanted and plugs in something completely WRONG! iyi iyi iyi... Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.

But because I have so many projects, I put a project down when I'm done with it and try to review it a month or so later. Try to give it some "fresh eyes".

Been there, done that. That's one advantage to publishing an e-book first. You can go back and fix the problem,(s), before it's made into a paper back.

Once I send anything off I try not to reread it. But I completely understand your frustration here.

HA, HA, HA!!! I've done that before! I sent a poem to a contest and found out a MONTH later that I sent it in with THREE typos!!! I was like, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo..." Ya know?

Oh my goodness, those are the worst times, especially when it was something I was really proud of. It happens to me often, to be completely honest because I am not very good when it comes to the rules and use of proper grammar. If any of you haven't noticed already through my posts. Hopefully some things will be excused while I am still sharpening dull skills.

Don't worry, you're safe here. Nobody here knew all the rules when we started. Everybody has to learn. We'll only start judging when you publish a book with a bunch of errors in it. I'm kidding. Just keep polishing and learning. You'll get it all. Believe me.

This is one of the reasons I'm sad so many publishing companies use editors less and less.

Ugh, yes! So frustrating! I just had this happen the other day. It was a very very minor typo, but still frustrating!

I always find typos irritating. There's nothing worse to make you look as if you don't know what you're doing on paper...

Well, that would be your fault then, Nathrad/Brother, because YOU would be my editor, so if there were any overlooked mistakes, they would be on your head. I'm kidding.

I want to kick myself a LOT if an error gets through my proofreading so I always have someone else read what I've written. Sometimes I get so used to reading what I've written that I think I must skim because I usually miss several simple things no matter how careful I am. I NEVER get anything perfect so I always have to find someone to re-read things for me and mark the errors. My son and daughter are writers also so we proofread for each other and it works out well that way, or find a good friend who you can barter something with for their proofreading skills.

I finished my 3rd novel in April but it wasn't till September that I'd reviewed and revised and proofread it enough for me to feel satisfied. There's always one more typo, including the tpyo you just found! ha ha
