If you want to read the first Iraq War Book with a twist, try Broken Under Interrogation by Jeffrey M. Hopkins. It is not only from the War in Iraq, it profiles Iraq War Veterans who returned to the United States to launch a "Special War on Drugs". You may enjoy it.

It's a really normal! I also prefer war books! Especially about WWII. You should read the books that you like.

I always avoided war books because I don't like war and I didn't want to read about the horrible things that war can do but then I realized that my parents lived through those times and I thought I should know what life was like for them and how it influenced them. I read a non-fiction book that told about a journey that the author took along the front lines of World War II and I learned a lot about the tactics used in the war and the destruction that took place during the war and the rebuilding that has taken place since the war. I also read a fictional story set in the era of World War II following the lives of some young adults living in Europe during that time and how the war affected their lives.

I have a better understanding now of what life was like during the war and how the war affected the people and the area where the war was and what life might have been like for people living in Europe at that time. Now I think I have to find a book that tells about how the war affected the lives of people in the United States who knew people who went to fight in the war because my parents got married just before my dad went to fight and so did my husband's parents and both my mom and mother-in=law stayed in the United States and tried to keep things going here while the men were at war.

Both of the books I read are posted in the book reviews here. One of them was, 'Forgotten Trails of the Western Front' by Iain D. Cameron and the other one was 'Maybe They'll Remember Me" by Philip Newey. If anyone has a recommendation of a book to read about what life was like for people in the United States during World War II please let me know. Thank you.
