Re: Pencil or pen?

I'll only use a pencil if I don't have a pen. Pens allow me to write fast without stopping. My favorite color to use is purple. Otherwise blue or black ink is fine.

Pen! Pencils are for math, people! Just kidding, to each his own. I love pens though, and I'm picky about my "collection". They have to be of a certain weight and feel good in my hand, ball-point, not gel, yuck! (I still haven't figured out my own aversion to it - go figure.) And I prefer thin point but medium is acceptable, if it writes smoothly. And just to make sure I never lose my favorites, I always carry extra Bics or other mass production stick pens, in case others need to "borrow" one. You can't imagine how many times I've seen a look of disappointment, when giving up a 'stick' as they eyed my pen-in-hand :D. For added measure, I put self address labels around my good, but less expensive pens. Yes! They're mine! Mine! Mine! So hands off my pretties!! :angry-fire:
But, like I said, to each his own :-D !

Pen. I love the way pens glide across the page. Pencils feel scratchy and stiff in comparison.

It depends on my mood. I like how smooth the pen writes, but I also like using pencil.

I like pen. Until I make a mistake and have to scratch something out. But I can't write in pencil. I don't know what it is, but I hate it.

Pen definitely. Especially smooth ones which flow so beautifully you almost want to cry when they run out.

I prefer a black pen. When I make a mistake and want to change something, I simple mark a line through and write around it. I'd rather look at jotted notes everywhere than eraser marks on my paper.

I like both. And I never erase, even when I write with penicl!
I really love the feeling of writing with soft, well sharpened penicl. A smooth pen is also delightful. I like to write in colour - not to underline, or special words - just write the whole thing in bright pink or vivid green. So I usually end up doing my writing in pen, because colour penicls are just not made for it.

Pen! It goes smoother across the page and gets my thoughts on paper much faster than pencil!

I got used to using pen over pencil and have found that pens work better for me.
When writing, using a pen mainly helps to keep my work intact since I tend to misplace my papers. This is a problem because when found again the pencil markings are horribly smudged into illegibility.
When drawing with pencil i tend to go back and erase a lot, which is bad because I end up with holes in my paper. With pens I am forced to continue, which helps because I actually finish my drawings and whatever the final product is amongst the scribbles I can just darken.

I started by writing my rough drafts with pen. that way there is no backward. and everything gets written down and stays.
but later I found a pencil puts me more at ease and helps me get inspired and fluent.
and sets the mood so my ideas so they can flow more easily from mind to paper.
