If this is duplicated, I didn't find it!

Please help. I've tried researching this online, but I can't seem to find a consensus.

Speak now or forever hold your piece? OR
Speak now or forever hold your peace?

I've said my piece. OR
I've said my peace.
?

If you speak your peace, then you've said what you need to say in order to be at peace.
If you speak your piece, then you've said whatever your piece of info is.

HELP! I have this in a manuscript and I don't know how to get it right! Which one is correct?

Whenever I have a grammar issue, I just change it to something completely different to avoid the phrase I'm not sure about. Because I am a coward like that. 8)

You're welcome! How're you? I've seen it used both ways, and it's weird... maybe it's one of those things now where either one goes, like spelling minuscule "miniscule." But unless or until I hear otherwise, I'll go with peace, as per blueme! :-)

It's peace. It means keeping quiet instead of speaking. People sometimes change a word to connote a different meaning. The original quote is really peace, but one can play around with the quote to intentionally suggest something else.

Actually, depending on what message you are trying to convey, they could all be correct. Its rather arbitrary.
