Getting my writing together

Post by StaceyDimes »

I enjoy writing poetry and have done it for as far back as I can remember. Over the last 2.5 years, I have been trying to collect it all up and save it in a binder. I have a couple of "poetic stories" as I call them and a few pages I call "random thoughts" but then I have about 18 poems collected and saved. I've always had that crazy dream that I would be a writer some day and publish a book. I'd like to pretend that's why I'm keeping all these poems organized and together this time. I'm not sure if I'm really any good. I've shared with friends and have gotten positive feedback but let's be honest.. they are my friends
Does anyone know of a way, a free way, that I could have someone read some of my poetry? It would be nice to have an unbiased opinion on it one way or the other.

You have an excellent group of very experienced readers (and in some case writers) right here on these forums including several published authors. Check the topics in the WRITING section of this website forum and look for Creative Original Works: Poetry. Post as many of your poems in that section as you like (preferably each in its own thread for clarity) and you may get responses if you mention that you are seeking opinions and/or constructive criticism.

I look forward to reading your work!
