I want to say that I go for long walks in nature or something like that. Honestly, I daydream at work a lot. My job is repetitive, and I have a lot of time to think. I find it helpful to keep a notepad in my pocket to write things down immediately while my ideas are fresh. I often find if I have music playing, my focus wanders more than if it's quiet. It has become increasingly difficult for me in the last few years to ignore the dopamine hit of social media, so I leave all my devices outside the room if I'm writing at home, and I have an old desktop with no internet that I use to reduce the temptation. These are the things I have found so far that work for me. I am interested to see how others deal with our modern age's distractions.
I totally agree! I also prefer walking peacefully in nature and observing small details hiding within little things, thats the way of writing: 'Turning something ordinary to extraordinary.' Also, cutting off from social media while writing or even gathering up the ideas, is very important. It allows you to remove all distractions and think effectively. Last but not the least, I also own a desktop with a bit slow Internet connection

And yes, writing ideas quickly on a notepad is a thoughtful haibit and one should not allow to waste their skill of thinking from a point from where others can't.
