I have been exploring writing for many years and at last managed to complete a short story. This one I self published because it is packed with photos.
To be honest I am working on a harder more serious book and needed to break away and write something lighter.
I am happy I found this forum, love reading!

reading some of what is here, I can see that there are some that write for pleasure, some that write for therapy and even some that write for just themselves.
I have been published in various newspapers, magazines, books, all off line.
Then there are many online sources, but I dont really count those, I count only those that can be actually credited.
Writing can be easy it can also be a frustrating experience, the old cliche about a writer and an editor getting into a huff over something that the editor has scraped out of a book or article can be a seriously intense thing.
I remember in college threatening an editor of the local college newspaper over a hack job in editing that slanted the article to a different viewpoint than what was intended.
I was angry enough to do something crazy...
However all of that is just a small part of what it is really like...[/i]
