When you write a story does it ever happen that you dislike how it turning out that you just stop writing on it. ?

Or do you cut away the part you don`t like and re write it ?

That does sometimes happens to me. The story i am writing now i really hate the way it has turned out. And i am wondering if i should just stop it and start again. Or just cut away big parts of it and start again from the point were i felt the story was going the way i wanted it to go. And i regret how the stories have turned out and i feel i have made many mistakes how and were the characters are in the story,

Of course as i am only writing for myself i guess it does not matter. But i still want to enjoy the story i write.

So what do you do in these situations do you stop writing, do you start again or do you keep going with the story no matter what.?

Perhaps decide the area yo like the least and change that aspect. Is the story missing a mental challenge, action, emotion, or some other factor. I find sometimes it's either a character needs to be added or removed, the location of an event needs to change or another obstacle needs to be given to the characters. You could always pick a significant point in your story, have things go in another direction and see if you prefer that story.
