I'm married, have two little kids, and a full time job. It's hard to find time to market my book. How do you do it? :?:

I think joining communities like this one is a good first step. Reviews and discount promos help, but tracking down reviewers and promo advertising sites is definitely a huge time sap. There are websites that have lists of book bloggers and promo sites, but you do still really have to sift through them. Maybe see how much you can get done setting aside ten or fifteen minutes a day on one of those lists?

It is certainly a balancing act. I second everything Leigh said and would add that I try to involve the family where possible, instead of keeping the two separate and apart from one another.

You cannot market your book all alone. You needa community intrested in your genre. If your discussion is slow then the book is not spread among the web. You have to plan a market where you are throwing your books. The best platforms are social media. In your leisure time you can share and enjoy in the same time, marketting your book.

I understand the delimma, as I'm recognizing the time drain that is involved as well. For me, it's looking like a choice: either I carve the time out to blog, visit social media sights, and research avenues, or my book gets buried and I give up. This might require a creative use of time management, and then there's needing to spend time working on the next book as well. I sympathize, and appreciate the question and the input discussion that's been put forth.
