Does anyone here use a writing/critique partner? How did you find him/her/them? How does your process work?

I always wanted a Writing Buddy and as I am soon going to work on a serious fantasy project, I needed one more than anything. So, I literally googled 'Writing Buddy'. I stumbled across an article where some people who wanted writing buddies and commented about their likes/dislikes and contact information. I saw the most recent comment was from a teen girl named Willow who just wanted a buddy she can share her struggles with and whom she can rely on for motivation or pointers when/if they needed (& that was exactly what I was looking for).
I contacted her and found we had so many similarities from books to tv shows to celebrity crushes. We became best buddies. We then discussed our plots and asked for pointers. As both of us are still in drafting process, we haven't critiqued our work as all we need right now is motivation to finish our stories. But, I'd occasionally send her screenshots of the paragraphs I've drafted to see if it's working or not. We'd share some writing tips too.
I think it's best to partner up with people we're comfortable with. People who not only helps us with technicalities but also with the emotional support we always lack. It's so fun to have a writing buddy.
