Maslow in Macbeth(Play by Shakespear)

Post by saqhra »

Hello i was just wondering if anyone know about Maslow and his theories and how do they compare with the play Macbeth. It would be really helpful and appreciated if anyone can help me out with this.

Thank You

I'm not a full bottle on Macbeth, but I've read some Shakespeare, and I'm familiar with Maslow's hierachy of needs. I'm not sure what information you really seek. Is there an essay question you have to answer?
You have inspired me to read Macbeth.
All I can suggest based on what you've told us, is that you apply a humanist/psychoanalytical reading to the Shakespeare text. Ask: what human needs are being explored in the text, and where on Maslow's hierachy do they sit? Are the characters' needs satisfied, or left wanting?
I hope this helps. I'm off to read the Scottish play.
Keep me posted. I'd love to hear your response.
