My shared universe

Post by Sean Wheeler »

So my first book (removed by mod) has promised a shared universe with the existence of the Mutation Encyclopedic Testing Association and Operation CHAMPION to build up to a super hero team called the Justicers. But I have a lot of ideas of stories. I just want to sort out which stories goes in my shared universe. The heroes who would team up as members of the Justicers would be in a universe which I call the Wheelerverse. However, should the Wheelerverse be reserved for superheroes? (Removed by mod) has shown mutations, robots, and mentioned aliens. And the next book (Removed by mod) would introduce a living cartoon character and I'm currently writing that while being connected to (Removed by mod) with Rex McCool and M.E.T.A., the concept of GeneHumans and ChemiHumans and a cameo by Jeremy Floeter and Amy Simpson. I'm also planning on writing a book called (Removed by mod). Lake Michigan is right on the coast of Illinois where most of the Wheelerverse takes place. But a mermaid could hardly survive on land so is not good for the Justicers. But maybe not all my stories should star a Justicer? Or even a super hero? I also like the idea of a multiverse so that ideas that don't fit in the Wheelerverse could be in another universe? The Quest of Sir Jacob takes place in a land called Midevila, which is full of Elves, Dwarves, etc. It is really hard to place a Tolkienish land in a world of modern day real places. Also a video game called Platform Sam that is a platformer like Mario wouldn't fit either. I have a space adventure story planned. While I don't want the crew of the Wheel to be superheroes, I don't want alien species to be segregated between stories. I want a Nork to be part of the Justicers and the Wheel Crew. And I want a fairy to be in the Justicers but if the only supernatural elements are mutations, mad science and robots, Fairy Girl can't be as she is so making mythological creatures like mermaids part of the Wheelerverse could open the door to fairies such as Ariel Fair. And don't get me started on time travel. I have an idea of a guy with a time machine trying to stop another guy from messing up the timeline. If I use that kind of time travel, it could mess with my other stories, so it's best to leave Time Quest as it's own separate universe. If I were to show time travel in the Wheelerverse, I would want it to be the self consistency principle of being already there and unable to change anything. And the undead? If you brain breaks when you die how can there be an afterlife? I would like the idea of oblivion so ghosts can't be in the Wheelerverse. There can be GeneHumans with ghostlike powers but not actual ghosts. Also I think stories about the future, such as Valor which takes place in the year 6666 should be in an alternate universe because since there is no way to interact with the other stories without time travel or descendents and I would want to keep the future open. But the problem with separate universes is that I can't really reuse fictional brands, characters or ideas, because that would imply that they are in the same universe. And there is another futuristic story of a world where the male gender was extincted, leaving only the females to clone themselves to preserve the human race and since it is set earlier than Valor, which would have some boys, and a clone of Emily Valor, meaning not everyone is a clone, Valor and Femworld can't coexist on the same Earth. So that's why futuristic stories would be outside the Wheelerverse. But some stories set in the past could, like Evan Lyle: Soldier of WW2. Being the first Toon in the universe is a major part of Susan Painter's character so stories about cartoon characters that are not Sue or her descendents are out of the universe. Anyway, how do you think I should sort out my universe?

If you don't have time to read that wall of text, and I apologize about the titles mentioned in the post, but I really need help. My mind keeps switching back and forth between "most of my works should be in this universe" and "no, only the superheroes would be in the shared universe." It is really confusing. I can't even decide and I'm really stuck.
