Professional Illustrations or Childlike drawings in kids bk

I'm hoping to one day publish a children's book for a very young reader base. I'm thinking a 4 to 5 year old group.
I am trying to get a feel though of how to go about with the illustrations because i've noticed that some of these picture/children's books have elaborate and quite professional looking illustrations, while in some of them, the pictures resemble children's drawing themselves.
Does anyone have kids about ages 4 to 5?
Can you tell me which of both types they prefer?
And also do you buy kindle versions of these types of books for your kids?
Thank you.

My kids always preferred the professional looking illustrations.

I won't buy kindle version for my kids, as I prefer the paper version for kids' book and so did my kids. Good luck!

My kids prefer professional illustrations and paper books too. If cost is a factor in your choice of book format you could always use kickstarter for funding and a self publishing print on demand publisher for your book. Good luck with your book!

I'd say professional. I always hate paying money for sub-par illustrated children's books, so I don't.

they are always amazed by professional drawings. yet, what I think is they will feel the book more familiar if it contains more child like drawings. they will feel like work of some of there own
