When ever you typed How to write a dissertation in any search engine it shows two obvious things.

1. You have to write a big document of over 20000 words
2. You don’t know exactly what or how you gonna do it

So, if you have come to this article so far, in hope of getting the answer of the question mentioned above; you won’t be disappointed, as you will at least find some useful advice that will make you aware of the path you have to follow in order to complete your dissertation project.

This basic but important part of your dissertation writing is choosing a topic for your dissertation writing project. Choosing topic is not an easy task at all. Finding something unique is the irritating point itself. The first question comes in our mind is: What in the earth is unique when we have studied so much about this thing?

Here is the solution: First of all chose the subject which interests you most. Then analyze this subject and see in which area it is more controversial or debatable. Pick some points from that area and start evaluating it, from both acceptable and non-acceptable side.

You really don’t have to invent something extra ordinary unique for your dissertation. Just pick some point, yes a single point and start evolving it into a separate topic.

After you have chosen your topic, you have to write a dissertation proposal. The purpose of this writing is to convince your dissertation committee that the topic that you have chosen is worth to write more than 20000 words on it.

When finally your dissertation proposal gets approved, your main thesis writing work begins. First thing to ask your dissertation adviser is the format of dissertation. After you get the format of dissertation, break your dissertation into following traditional sections of theses.
1. Title
2. Acknowledgments
3. Abstract (The length of the Abstract should be no more than 300-500 words, but not included in the formal word count.)
4. Contents
5. Chapter 1: Introduction
The length of the Introduction should be about 10% of the whole dissertation.
6. Chapter 2: Literature search
7. Chapter 3: Methodology
The Research Methodology chapters in length should be about 20% of whole dissertation.
8. Chapter 5: Analysis or discussion (The length of this section should be about 30% of the whole dissertation.)
9. Chapter 4: Results
10.Chapter 6: Conclusions (This chapter in lengths should be about 15% of the whole dissertation)
11. References Or Bibliography
12. Appendix
The main purpose of these academic writing is to prepare students to be original. These jobs required students to present something new and original and take first step to contribute something new in pre existing knowledge. But this doesn’t mean you start copying other people’s ideas and research and make some changes in it and claim it as your study. You may get some coursework help from others but If you ever copy from some past documents, then you have to mention the original source.

Concentrate on the each section individually except those which are connected together like Reference and bibliography. With this approach you are able to complete your dissertation project successfully.
