Hiya.
What do you do? When you can think up the plot points.
But you can't go through with the story or fanfic.
Because your mind goes blank for that?
HELP!

conflict is an excellent place to start. Conflict drives action and resolution and any good plot out there you will find. I would suggest taking a close look at the stories, novels, movies, etc that you love and study their plots and find out why they are so compelling. What is the conflict? What motivates the characters? How does the story move? How is the plot resolved?

I think that writing is much like music or art. My husband is a musician and lyrics and music flow from him. My best friend is an artist. She can take a blank canvas and oils or pastels and create worlds...or simply an emotion. Writers...we have words. We write because we must. It is our creative outlet.

Yeah true.. Also writing is not spontaneous, its a deep thinking process that one has to go through when writing something, whether it is a song, a novel or a drama.

Agreed. Have been working on "Like Smoke Through a Keyhole" (a memoir) for over five years now. Release date April 24, 2011. Have a childrens book I wrote 20 years ago that my best friend and I just dusted off and she is doing the illustrations. These things take time.
