CHAPTER ONE
Hayley Miller woke up in a dark cold room. She could feel the hard concrete floor with her fingers but she couldn't move much. At first she thought she was paralyzed but then she realized she could move her fingers so that's not it. Hayley turned her head this way and that but she couldn't see. She then realized she was blindfolded and tied up.
Hayley thought back to the night before remembering her walk home, these strangers in a black van had drove up and hauled her away. In the van they sprayed this mist at her. 'It must have been sleeping gas', she thought.
Her mouth was not covered but she didn't dare speak, for all she knew there could be someone watching her. She listened intently and picked up on a few words.
"But if we let the girl go she'll tell everyone!"
"Will anyone believe her?"
"Well maybe! We may have proof if we mess around with her..."
The voices were cut off by a door slamming abruptly.
She thought about what they said and a chill crept up her spine, she shook it off not wanting to worry about stuff. Right now she had to worry about getting out of here. Hayley squirmed on the ground trying to loosen the ropes but they were too tight. She wished she listened to the knot lesson in Girl Guides. Hayley shouldn't dwell on the past so she used her fingers to try to finger the knot. She untied the bottom one! Then Hayley realized the knots went up her back and down her legs. 'How many ropes did they use?!' she thought.
The man opened the door with a loud bang and looked at the girl with greedy eyes. Hayley heard the person come into the room and shrank back into the wall not wanting to make a sound.
CHAPTER TWO
"Do we have the injection?"
"Of course."
Hayley felt two strong hands lift her off of the ground. They roughly removed her blindfold which fell onto the ground. She stifled a scream as they carried her into a bright labrotory.
The older man layed her down onto the operating table and strapped her in. She struggled to get out of the trap and screamed. Her scream was stifled by the mask that was placed over her mouth. She sucked in a mouthful of air in surprise and she fell into unconciousness.
CHAPTER THREE
When she woke up there was a sharp pain in the back of her neck. She rubbed it and felt a smal bump underneath her skin. Hayley coughed and sat up just as the two men came into the lab. They must of removed the ropes while she was unconcious.
She could see their faces more clearly now.They were both in their early twenties with a sharp jaw line. Their eyes shone with greed.
"What'd you do to me?, Hayley exclaimed.
"You'll find out soon enough", the younger man answered.
A sudden beep from the computer made Hayley jump and the two men rushed towards it.
"Have you inserted the chip yet?, the voice from the computer asked.
"Yes we have but no effects have shown yet."
"Of course not. She just woke up you foold!", the words exploding loudly.
The men jumped. The voice got quieter and said, "Has Miss. Miller shown any sign of vomiting, red splotches or dizziness?"
"No sir", the young man answered.
"Very strange. out of a hundred girls only Hayley's body accepted the chip. Contact me when she shows signs."
The computer beeped again and shut off. Hayley sat up in the bed looking at her feet breathing deeply. The older man came towards her. Hayley's eyes flashed from green to red then she lashed out hard hitting the man squarely in the jaw. The man swore then backed away. Hayley gasped and backed away in shock. She had left a red mark where she had hit him.
"Okay Hayley, calm down", the younger man said.
"How do you know my name? Who are you and what have you done to me?", she flew the words at them.
The younger man stepped forward cautiously then spoke," My name is Kurt Collin and this is Brendan Alps," motioning to the older man. "We work from the SCA, it stands for the Stila Chip Association. That is the name of the chip we injected into the back of your neck."
'That explains the bump', she thought.
The man continued," We know your name because we scanned your DNA into the computer and it told us names associated with you. We researched these people and found your name. And what we did to you, well, we have yet to find out."
CHAPTER FOUR
Brendon threw her into a small room. "Welcome home." He shut the heavy metal door and Hayley was plunged into darkness. She stood up feeling along the stone walls until she found a corner. She slumped down and put her head in her knees. "Why me?", she moaned. "Why did I have to get chosen? Why did I accept the chip and not everyone else?" Then she realized the girls that didn't accept the chip might not have been so lucky.
