I do love a good historical novel and A Captive in Algiers sounds like one. I like the vibrant spirit of Ettore and the fact that he has his friends with him. Being alone would have been a more terrible fate. I hope he and his friends escape without any casualties.

Your review highlights the author's skill in crafting vivid scenes that truly immerse the reader in the story. It's impressive how the description of the storm at sea evoked such strong emotions and empathy for the characters' plight.

It was always heartbreaking for me to see street kids, so I can't claim that this book is my cup of tea, but at the same time, I am not able to deny the positive feeling the review evoked and the hope that, unlike most times in real life, the "strong determination and his aspiration" will bring Ettore to success. Congrats with BOTD!

From the review of A Captive in Algiers by AJ Lewis, I can tell that this book is an interesting one. I've always wondered what negative things could possibly happen to people on tour and tour guides. Congratulations on BOTD.

We all experience hardships and wonder what it would be like to cheat or bend the rules. However, a great person would ignore such thoughts and do what is right. This book is like that, too. Congratulations on BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

Your review is very interesting! I sampled the Preface, and, like you, I was fascinated by the author's setting the scene for this story by reference to his family's ancestry as he was tracing it back to his grandfather's time in the 19th century. I read with interest in your review that the story revolves around the life challenges of Ettore, a street boy, and I look forward to discovering his adventures.

The way the author weaves together historical elements with a compelling storyline in "A Captive in Algiers" truly intrigues me. It seems like a fascinating exploration of a forgotten era, filled with adventure and unexpected turns.
I believe in something greater than myself.

Ettore works as a tour guide, and one day he gets lost in the sea with his friends Paul and Bruno during a tour. They are then captured and sold into slavery. How will their lives turn around? The story is immersive, with vivid descriptions. A beautiful story of strong determination. That was a wonderful review.

That was an eye opening book for anyone who are in need of a support to fight the challenges in every situation. As a research scholar I am extremely happy that I chose a right book.
