Nada, a 16-year-old teenager, lost her parents in an unfortunate accident in Paris, making her live with her 70-year-old grand auntie. Nada is of an alien descent called the Atlantean but has little knowledge about her heritage. She was born deaf but has the gift to see and interpret sound waves and vibrations, and this helps her to communicate with people easily without anyone finding out about her disability. One day, Nada sensed a peculiar vibration from a new boy in her school named Kani, unbeknownst to them that fate has a lot in store for them. The lives of the people of Atlantis and the fate of Earth lie in their hands. Follow Nada and Kani as they discover their powers and face the adventure of a lifetime.

Vibrations: Children of Atlantis by A. R. Alexander is an exciting young adult story that portrays mystical creatures, magic, and adventure. I really like how the book begins and builds up to Nada and Kani’s battle against aliens called the Dei Tenebris. The children of Atlantis must fight to protect their people, and a big battle is coming. Nada and Kani are among the selected champions in this challenge, but with Nada, who often doubts herself, and Kani, whose parents have kept his true identity a secret his whole life, how will they face these dangerous and powerful creatures? Only time will tell. I admire the author’s creativity in this story. I felt scared for Nada and Kani as they went on their mission. It’s a beautiful, fast-paced story that readers will enjoy and wish could go on forever, especially the action scenes.

What I liked most about the book was the bond between Nada and Kani. Unlike other champions like Yuna and Nils, Nada and Kani trusted and supported each other. Their teamwork and trust will later be their survival tool. Their friendship was really special, and watching them fight the Dei Tenebris had me on the edge of my seat. I also admired how strong-willed Nada is; despite losing the people who cared for her the most, who were her parents, she didn’t give up, but rather she was able to move on even though in her heart the pain is still fresh. And even when some of her peers in school see her as a weird person, she pays them no mind, reflecting her resilient spirit.

There was nothing I disliked about the book, as each page had no boring scenes. I loved how the author developed the characters; readers will easily engage with them. I only found an error in the book; thus, it was professionally edited. I rate it five out of five stars because the book was a fun read, and the conclusion left me with an aftertaste of euphoria. I recommend this book to lovers of young adult fiction; they will find this book to be a joy to read.

Official Review: Vibrations by A.R. Alexander

Vibrations by A.R. Alexander is a young adult science fiction novel that explores themes of loss, identity, and connection through the eyes of a unique protagonist. The story follows Nada, a 16-year-old girl who tragically lost her parents in an accident in Paris. She moves in with her 70-year-old great-aunt, unaware that her life is about to change forever.

Nada is no ordinary teenager—she is deaf, but she possesses an extraordinary ability to perceive and interpret sound waves and vibrations. This rare gift allows her to communicate with others without them realizing her disability. As she adjusts to her new life, she begins to experience strange sensations and vibrations, especially from a mysterious new student at her school named Kani.

As the story unfolds, Nada discovers she is a descendant of Atlanteans—an ancient alien race. Her heritage brings her closer to understanding who she truly is and the role she is meant to play. With the help of Kani and her inner strength, she embarks on a journey filled with adventure, danger, and self-discovery.

I was particularly impressed by the way the author portrayed Nada’s deafness—not as a limitation, but as a part of her identity that gives her strength. The writing is clear and immersive, and the plot moves at a steady, engaging pace. The blend of science fiction with emotional depth makes Vibrations a standout read.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is a captivating, well-written novel that I would highly recommend to fans of young adult fiction, fantasy, and stories about empowerment and resilience.

Nada’s ability to “see” sound instantly pulled me in—it’s such a fresh, symbolic take on how we perceive the world and ourselves. The emotional weight of her journey, from silent observer to reluctant hero, really stood out to me. I’m intrigued by how her deafness isn’t framed as a limitation but as a unique power, especially in a world teetering between myth and cosmic war. The Atlantean lore mixed with teen vulnerability feels both imaginative and deeply human—definitely not your average YA adventure.

The story revolves around Nada, a young woman who possesses the extraordinary ability to see sound as light, and Kani, a seemingly ordinary boy who can sense and manipulate vibrations. A.R. Alexander's "Vibrations: Children of Atlantis" is a captivating young adult fantasy novel that pulses with a unique blend of mythological intrigue, coming-of-age discovery, and heart-pounding adventure. This book offers a refreshing take on the legend of Atlantis, weaving a tale that is both imaginative and grounded in the relatable experiences of its teenage protagonists.

Alexander masterfully crafts these characters, giving them distinct voices and personalities that immediately draw the reader in. Nada's quiet strength and vulnerability, stemming from a life lived in the shadows, contrasts beautifully with Kani's more easygoing nature and burgeoning curiosity about his own abilities. Their journey of self-discovery is central to the novel, as they grapple with the implications of their powers and their connection to a civilization thought lost to time.

One of the book's greatest strengths lies in its world-building. Alexander doesn't simply rehash the myth of Atlantis; she reimagines it, creating a rich and vibrant world where ancient forces still hold sway. The concept of sound and vibration as sources of power is particularly compelling, adding a fresh and innovative dimension to the fantasy genre. The author's vivid descriptions allow the reader to truly visualize Nada's perception of the world, where sound manifests as shimmering waves of light.

The narrative is driven by a compelling plot that unfolds at a brisk pace. From the moment Nada and Kani's paths cross, they are thrust into a series of mysterious events that propel them towards their destiny.

I enjoyed your great review. It sounds like Nada a Kani have their hands full and will need teamwork to save the world. It sounds a bit 'young' for my taste, but I'm sure it is an enjoyable story.
