Review: the Fault In Our Stars

Post by Aspen_Reads »

Hazel is not an ordinary girl. How can she be, when she is terminal? But when she meets Augustus, she might be normal, even if it for a little while. Gus brings color and light to her world, where she didn’t think was possible. The journey that they take is one that they will never forget.
You really do get drawn into Hazel’s life, and her love for Augustus, and you see how that changes her from a depressed, cancer-filled girl, to a girl who has hope for living the rest of her, albeit short, life with someone who loves her just as much as she loves him. I loved how Augustus brought spontaneity to Hazel’s life, and how he shows her how to truly live, and seize the day. Hazel learns a lot from Gus, but Gus also learns a lot from Hazel- such as the love of An Imperial Affliction.
All in all, this is a novel that everyone can enjoy-whether you are a teen, or whether you are an adult. I think that those of you who are interested in reading a book that you will never forget, and would like to read again and again-this book is for you. But-if you don’t like being drawn into a story only to find yourself bawling at the end…. Try a different book, because this one isn’t for you. And for all who are looking for an epic love story-clear a space on your bookshelf (even if its overflowing) because you will want to buy this book after reading it! So, that being said, I would rate this novel a five of five stars. I thought that it was wonderfully written, and after reading it the first time, which was probably back in late May, early June, I have read this novel five or six more times, and I love it just as much as when I first read it. This novel is a masterpiece, and John Green is an amazing author that everyone should read.
