Assassin's Creed Reaissance Review

Post by darkhuntress »

Assassin's Creed Renaissance is a novel that takes place in the early 1400's. It is the first book in the Assassin's Creed series and was written by Oliver Bowden. This book series is based on the award winning video game series Assassin's Creed. In this book series young Ezio Aduitore seeks to avenge the wrongful deaths of his family and restore the families honour. In this quest for revenge Ezio learns that he is part of something much bigger and that he must follow the ways of his father and his father before him. He must live by the Creed and protect the innocent people from the wrath of the Templars. Along the way he meets and be-friends some interesting characters including up and coming painter Leonardo Da Vinci. With the help of his friends Ezio sets out to save his family and continue where his father left off.

Oliver Bowden paints a picture of what the towns and cities looked like in the ancient times, the rough stonework buildings, the cobblestone streets, even the sights and sounds of the time the characters are living in. With so much imagery it is very easy to imagine yourself stepping into the time of Ezio Aduitore and helping him in his quest for revenge and justice.

Mr. Bowden leads you on an aw-inspiring journey through time and what the cities, people and customs where. As the story progresses we learn the history of the characters and how they live. During times in the novel you find yourself thinking like young Ezio and almost knowing his next move before he does.

This book has action around every corner and there never is dull moment, learning the ways of the Assassin's and their battle against the Templars makes for a thrilling read with excitement around every corner. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars, for how Mr. Bowden shows us his characters, takes us on the journey in the ways of the Assassin's and how you almost know what the next move of young Ezio even before he knows himself. He paints a picture of the lands where these characters travel to and live. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the award winning game series, and those who like novels that take place in ancient times, with excitement around every corner.
