Book Review: The Changelings By Elle Casey

Post by rds0821 »

This is a great book. It is very well written with a cast of great characters. The book is centered on the main character Jayne & her best friend Tony. Jayne is a pretty average unhappy teenager. Tony is what most people would call a geek. They have been friends for years thanks to Jayne's persistence. Jayne is a very lovable smart alek with a bit of a foul mouth. Tony is a lovable geek who puts up with Jayne's snarkiness and loves her in spite of it. Neither Jayne of=r Tony have a great home life but they are determined to hold out until graduation when they can escape their boring lives. Then something happens that will change both of their lives forever. An unexpected confrontation leads to them running away to Miami. After meeting a group of fellow runaways they end up learning about a whole new world that they are meant to be a part of. The book is very fast paced with some awesome support characters. It is a paranormal book but the characters are so believable that the world feels real. the writing flows very well and the author seems to understand teenagers. It is written as a young adult novel but as an adult I loved it! It is the first in a series and is a cliffhanger. It is definitely worth the read.
