Three Doors by R. Stars

Post by Sarah Clay »

Three Doors is the true story of a girl and her best friend, who struggles daily with severe depression. The author wrote this book as kind of a letter to the real life friend.

It's hard to describe this book. I loved the language, however I felt that some of the writing was choppy. It lingers closely to a short story, but even closer to novella size at roughly ten thousand words. All together, this book has a wonderful theme of endurance and friendship. However, I want to warn those who struggle with suicidal thoughts and depression against reading this book, as the friend's thoughts are graphic to the emotions felt in depression and may trigger those who struggle with it as well.

I give it 3 out of 4 stars.
