Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes

Post by pdcyouthlibrary »

Really loving this series for sure. Book Three of this series just came out a few months ago, and enjoying this series for sure. The hard part is getting used to and remembering all the characters, but once you can get through that (and there's a little key in the front of the book you can reference that will help) the books are amazing. Cleo is a favorite, she wasn't at first, but she really has grown into a favorite! Magnus, brooding Magnus, is a lot, and yet, kind of like him a lot. Jonas I was thinking I would like a lot more, but he has not been a favorite for awhile, and Lucia, not been a fan, but that could change in the coming books, very interesting for sure! Great series, highly recommend, has a fantasy twist with some magic, but not overly fantasy.

I enjoyed reading this book but can't help compare it to the Game of Thrones series. If you're looking for something similar to GOT but not as intense and with a more young adult vibe, these books are perfect. However, I don't think I'll be continuing with the series even though I did like Falling Kingdoms. GOT did it first and did it better, just my opinion.

This series is getting overhyped these days and I don't know why. I'm asking, "why only now?". I wasn't a fan of this series when I first read it last year and I'm still currently struggling through second book. I just can't do it. Maybe if I read it again I can probably learn to like it.
