The Haunting Of Sunshine Girl by Paige Mckenzie

Post by booknerd2300- »

This book was refreshing with all the dystopian young adult novels that have come out recently. Something different at least. The main character Sunshine (love the unique hippie name) moves to a rainy/cloudy town in Washington after living in Texas her entire life. The way that Sunshine describes everything about the town is "creepy". This book is written in the first person perspective of Sunshine herself and a mysterious character that is watching Sunshine unbeknownst to her. Of course, Sunshine moves into an old haunted house. The aspect that makes this book different? Sunshine befriends one of the ghosts in her new creepy home. You guessed it, Sunshine has to deal with evil supernatural beings as well and soon finds out that she has a destiny to fulfill and must fill it fast to save the ones she loves most.

I love this book! i couldn't read it at night though because it was just so creepy and thrilling! Demons and ghosts and possessions!!!!!!!!!!! What makes it even better is that its based on a real web series on youtube when young Paige moves into a haunted house. The book starts with the move in and only picks up speed from there when a demon possesses her mom and she and her friend Nolan have to figure out a way to save her through research. From this research she discovers who she really is and its definitely not what her or readers would expect. Even if the author is only a teenager she really knows how to write a creepily exciting novel.
