How to Set a Fire and Why by Jesse Ball

Post by MagicToDo930 »

What I liked:
-My attention being grabbed immediately with the first chapter. It jumped right into everything about Lucia's life.
-The style of the writing of the book. Each chapter was a title of something going on in Lucia's life. I felt that I was reading a diary.
-Everything tied in at the end, especially how the title of the book came to be. It all made sense at the end.

What I Didn't Like:
-The way some predictions Lucia made being repeated. I mean, who wants to read the same thing over and over again.
-How Lucia was raised by her father and also aunt. She was 14 and could get drunk and they didn't care, just as long as she was responsible.
-Lucia's pamphlet that was a whole chapter. Not needed.
-Ending was cut short. Wish it was longer or perhaps a sequel.
-We never found out how her father died which resulted in her mother going crazy.
