Afterburn

Sci-fi fantasy are my favorite. I enjoyed going on the journey learning about Reme. He was a farm boy which was owned by his family and they hoped that he would takeover. Reme had other plans besides wanting to own/run the farm so he sought out his dreams. He loved racing. Although the parents had their own wants and problems they allowed Reme to pursue his own parh.

"Afterburn" by R.K. Higgins is a science fiction novel on Reme, a farm boy who has dreamt of racing in Andora city. The novel is a perfect mixture of emotions of Reme's parents for letting him go, his experience in the Andora city, and love Reme experiences towards Kalina. The review is informative and honest. Thank you.

Fiction is like a spider's web, attached ever so lightly perhaps, but still attached to life at all four corners. Often the attachment is scarcely perceptible; Shakespeare's plays, for instance, seem to hang there complete by them- selves. But when the web is pulled askew, hooked up at the edge, torn in the middle, one remembers that these webs are not spun in mid-air by incorporeal creatures, but are the work of suffering human beings, and are attached to grossly material things, like health and money and the houses we live in.
Virginia Woolf

Utimately, books teach us about life. Just like the reviewer mentioned, any book worth reading must have lessons or some knowledge that the audience will benefit from. The plot sounds exciting. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Seems like a very interesting read, I am definitely curious now about the mysterious death of one of the people who control the racing world, seems very suspicious.
The idea of a guy traveling to a new place to pursue his dream is very good as it creates a sense of hope and journey on the readers.

“Afterburn” by R.K. Higgins is a young adult science fiction story about courage and teamwork. Reme Reagan, the main character, wanted to go to Andora, the racing city, but his dad told him no because his mom was opposed to his going. Eventually, he wore dad down and was off to Andora. On his way he met another racer named Kalina and he fell for her. Two people control the racing in Andora: David Yubin and Eleanor Cinder. These were the most powerful men in the racing world. During one race involving Reme, Kalina and David, David’s pod exploded and he was killed. No one was sure what caused the accident and one needs to read the book to find out. The book has numerous twists and turns and the ending is not what most readers would expect. A well-written thriller with a very good review.

I'm a huge fan of car racing so this book is right up my alley. Reme seems to know what he want his to look like in the racing arena but it seems that something mysterious things are happening behind the scene. I just downloaded the book and have already started reading. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

This book sounds like something I would enjoy as I tend to go with fiction and fantasy stories. I agree that children should make up their own minds about who they want to be, having that as a plot point is another eye catching thing for me especially if racing is involved! Definitely giving it a read.

Science fiction has another series on the way! *Afterburn* by R.K. Higgins Is the first in a series of futuristic racing books for young adults. With great character development and fast action, the story moves the reader along and the plot makes the reader want to know more and more of the unexpected events in this book. Some of the downsides of technology are made apparent in this story but the value of teamwork and courage are also evident. Great review! Thank you.
