I doubt that I'll read this book as I'm not part of its target audience. Glad you enjoyed it, though!

It sounds like the author is quite descriptive in this book which helps the reader to really feel like he or she is there. I dislike camping myself; I could never get into it. However, it still sounds like an interesting book with good characters. Thanks.

A coming of age tale revolving around a camping trip sounds like a good read for YA. Sounds like the book has plenty of adventures that help heroes coming out of his shell. Good descriptions make the book comes alive. A pity about the over-detailed secondary story. Hopefully, those grammatical errors were fixed by now. Not for me, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review!

This sounds like a nice and interesting book about a boy who tries to come out of his shell, build his self confidence and learn how to stand up for himself. Despite this I'm not sure this YA book is for me but I'm sure this book will definitely find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

The book sounds nice and from the review and sample I get that this book is very graphic in discribing the scenes. I felt as though I'm there with them even though I never went camping. Nice review

I like the fact that Lib finds camping an avenue for discovering himself and, hence, develops from a shy to a confident boy. This is a wonderful premise for a novel and, I'm, therefore looking forward to reading this. Thank you for this wonderful review!

The bugs are terrible, dirt doesn't make a good bed no matter how thick your sleeping bag is, and it's always either too hot or too cold.
You just described how I feel about camping :P
But I understand contacting with nature, as well as stepping out of your comfort zone can be a very transformative experience.
Unfortunately, I'm not into the great outdoors or extremely descriptive books, but I enjoyed your candid review. Thank you.

A fictional story in which the reader could have an experience of really going to camping, and it is nicely presented in the book "Welcome to Shadow Creek" by Don Williams. The story follows Lib, a 15-year-old boy, and his friends who go to camping, enjoying campfire as well as hardship of staying away from home. Hope reading this book encourages me too for going to camping.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I know what you mean about feeling like you’re there. I feel like I was in the van with the gang and dad going to pitch a tent. I love camping and I’m going to love finishing this book. :techie-studyinggray: :no-spoil:

I always loved camping! I'm sure this book would easily take me back there. While I enjoy good descriptions, this one seems to take things too far.

I don't like camping either so I would prefer this to it but I still have no interest in reading even a fictional story about camping.

Cool! A book set where I grew up. Always interesting for me, as I moved half the country away and will probably never go back.

Warm bologna and campfire scents... nothing says outdoor youth adventures quite like that combo! Sounds like a well-crafted tale of camping and discoveries.

Camping's are best real life experiences. I am eager to read this book due to its plot and author's description. Surely it is a best book to lost yourself in campaign. Thanks for your great review.

My dad and youngest brother are in the Boy Scouts of America, and they go camping all of the time. I have camped myself, but I have done non-primitive camping not primitive. This book really makes it seem as if you are really there camping along with the rest of the scouts and their leaders. Congrats on such an informative and well-written review!
