I was skeptical as well. My cousin tried for weeks to convince me, even buying me the first book so she would have another 30-year-old to discuss it with! After reading the series several times, I find myself making the same arguments that she did. Namely this one: "Yes, obviously there are vampires and werewolves in the story, but that's not remotely the point!" I am sad for people who either have only seen the movies, or saw the movies before reading the books - so much better without preconceived notions! I also find it interesting when books are marketed in a specific direction. The young adult angle was lucrative I'm sure, but might have turned off people who care about what section of the store they're visiting.

I thought the writing was good and i couldn't put them down. I enjoyed the books much more than the films.

I really loved the Twilight Series. New Moon being my least favorite, but I still really enjoyed them. The books were definitely better than the movies, although I was also a fan of each movie. I guess I was a twihard. Lol.

i also read the books before the movies came out, and i really did enjoy them,at the time i was pregnant with my second child and on bed rest so i needed something to do. at the same time my niece was reading the series and i had someone to talk to about it, however at the time she was in high school and i had just finished reading the last book in the series, needless to say i was a little shocked by the details of the book, especially since i found them a little disturbing compared to the others. so i decided that i would not let her borrow my copy. when my sister asked me why i told her you read it and then you can decide if you want her to read it..

overall i liked the books better then the movies. but isn't that how it always is..

I absolutely loved these books. I was about 41 when I read them and I still enjoyed them. I don't normally read books twice, but I would read this series again and I would love to own all of them in hardcover.

When I bought the first book, I began to read it, got bored and put it down. Then the movie came out and I thought I'd give it another try. Once I got past the first 4-5 chapters, the story really picked up and I was hooked. I finished the entire series in 2 days, and it took awhile for me to get over the fact I finished them and pick up another book. Twilight was by far my favorite. New Moon was my least and I felt the story line ran a little slow. Breaking Dawn was also very good, but ended in an epic fail with a battle that was so hyped up throughout the book that never happened. This is still one series that I am able to re-read again and again and never get bored.

I also read the books before the big fan base was there. I enjoyed the first two books but after that they seemed to fall short. The plot twists kept me going and the love triangle although short was beautiful. Would recommend to romance readers as well as people who love books with plots twists they don't see coming.

This series is honestly so good. I just finished re-reading Twilight about a week ago and I'm so glad that I did. I'd forgotten how much I loved this series after the movies had come out. They kind of ruined the whole series for me but the books are well written and should not be compared to the movies at all. I remember reading these books for the first time when I was about 11 and reading them so fast. The story just encaptured me and I needed to know what happened to the characters as badly as I needed air. It only took me a day and a half to read Breaking Dawn and I remember my mom just being like "did you honestly read that huge book in two days???"

Personally, I loved all the books... The movies were a huge let down, but that could be because of poor acting. Bella and Edward had such strong emotions in the books that were not brought to the big screen.

I have to agree that the books where great. But the movies... I hated them. I really hate the actress they chose to play Bella. She shows very little emotion in any movie that she plays in and as a personal opinion she is the worse actress I have ever seen.

I love the Twilight books! Though I don't like most of the movie the last one was okay.

The Twilight series will always be my favorite. I have read the first three no less than 15 times each. I think my love of reading YA novels started with Twilight. The movies were horrible (except for Taylor Lautner) but the books were amazing.

I simply love reading anything by Stephenie Meyer! I tried to avoid watching Twilight at first and was doing a good job of it because I thought it sounded ridiculous. Then, my teenage daughter begged me to watch it on pay-per-view with her and we were both hooked. Next, my daughter mentioned that it was also a book and that is was a series; so we read the first book. I tried not to read ahead--but I couldn't stop myself. I borrowed the books at first from the public library and later purchased them because I love to reread the entire series. Each time, I pick up something different that I missed before. I also highly recommend that if you haven't read the partial draft of "Midnight Sun" you go to her website and click on "Twilight Series", and then select "Midnight Sun" and enjoy the first book from Edward's perspective. Unfortunately, it was never finished because it was leaked, so Ms. Meyer's stopped working on it. I keep hoping that it may come out yet. There is also a "Twilight Storytellers; The New Voices of the Twilight Saga" a fan correspondent coming out in the form of six short films created by fans (women that aspire to be a future directors someday) and their favorite Twilight characters back stories. The six stories have been chosen and the fans that submitted their videos get to work with the filmmakers and others that are part of this project; to make these short stories. I hoped you enjoyed reading this post! :)

I put off reading the Twilight books for the longest time thinking they would be scary (in middle school at the time, I had no desire to frighten myself). However, after some pushing from a friend, I read the first one and was hooked. Luckily, I started the series in September, the month after Breaking Dawn came out and only had to wait two months for the first movie. I found Stephanie's world to be very unique and I still have a hard time reading anything with vampires that goes against her rules. I'd recommend this book to anyone who was looking for something refreshing to read in the vampire world.

When i read Twilight, it was long before the movies. While reading I actually enjoyed the patanormal romance depicted because it was my first book with vampires and werewolfs in tgem. But though the story is a triangle, the way the plot moves on in the 3rd book is quite unexpected. Well I would say it was worth readin
g because of the twisted plot and Jacob.
