It was, "I don't know!" If you said that, you got slimed! :o

What a frightful future this book weaves: no television shows, but news and media! I hate watching the news!

Meg thanks for accepting the role. It comes with a lot of responsibility with all sorts of random questions like who played Michael J. Fox's girlfriend in Family Ties.

Gack!! I'm only halfway through season 1, but I will get back to you on that... maybe five years from now!

Ooh, that is a lot of responsibility.

I was just thinking about brain adjusting and how vulnerable that leaves people to other types of manipulation...

Also, the answer is me. I was his girlfriend. I had such a crush on Alex P. Keaton!

Yeah, brain adjusting sounds awful. I read a sci-fi short story once that this reminds me of. All the smart people were made to wear earphones that would ring every fifteen seconds (or at a given interval based on how smart they were) so that they couldn't form any coherent thoughts between rings. It dumbed down everyone to the same level. I don't know what that short story was, though.

If Tick is anywhere near as awesome as that story, then it must rock!!

Awwww, you were Alex P. Keaton's girlfriend! How cute!! :romance-hearteyes:

Meg That was a short story from Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut. It is called Harrison Bergeron.

Tick was clever on another level. It was so well thought out and the experiences are eye opening and horrifying. At the same time it is mentally stimulating and will make you think.

Great review! Very well written, and it sounds like an intriguing (possible) future created by the author. Dystopian fiction doesn't usually tingle my jingle (sorry, I had to), but this sounds interesting.

Lauren was Alex P. Keaton' s girlfriend on Family Ties and she married Michael J. Fox in real life.

You are welcome. :D I am always happy to help. I hate it when I can't remember a book but I remember bits and pieces so clearly.
