Self-help books appeal to me. From your review, this ain't a good one. I still appreciate every viewpoint regarding depression and possible treatments. Nice review.

It wasn't bad, but there was definite room for improvement. I think adding academic examples to back up her ideas would have helped a lot. Thank you for your thoughts!
Sounds like the lack of research examples were purely because the author based the book on her own personal experiences. I understand the need to share and enlighten others but it can be a challenge for those who don't understand or may want to read further from her philosophicies. Great review Christina, might not read the book though.

It's so unfortunate that it's poorly edited denying it a better rating. It's again wearisome trying to reread for better understanding. Nice review.
It really does take a strong minded person to realize that you need to step back and help yourself before trying to help others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you! I would definitely check out a revised edition.

Great Review! ?
That's what I'm hoping for as well. Thank you!

Your assessment sounds pretty accurate. And, I'm sure publishing a book versus another means, such as blogging, was far more appealing. It widens the audience for someone trying to help others.
You're right, I am the type that likes further reading along with the author's personal experiences. Maybe it adds concrete validation? I don't know.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

You have done a brilliant review. Many people struggle with self-discovery around the glob. Thanks to the author for bringing this to light.

It's not a genre for everyone. Thank you for reading my review, and taking time to comment.
