Great review. I was interested in reading this story before looking at your review but now I can't wait to start. A book that gives the reader a glimpse into the often unimaginable, hidden lives of some children and highlights the devastating impact their experiences can have on their personal growth and development.
It is sad to think that children so young could have lost the ability or desire to care.

I love how a teacher wrote this book because I feel that teachers are one of the best people to understand what students are going through since they see all kinds of situations everyday. It's sad to think about children giving up hope in school, and other areas, but what Maxx describes here seems very real. I feel the strong themes and the dark tone in the writing is a bit too much for me to fully enjoy and appreciate the read, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing!

I'm a teacher myself and agree that starting from the first grade children begin to lose their interest in school and in learning, some of them even abhor it. It is really difficult to change their opinion and sometimes even impossible. It will be interesting for me to read this book and thanks for making it free.
