"Racing the Wild" by Rosanna Andrea Feeken is a gripping young adult novel that combines a compelling story of personal resilience and friendship with vivid depictions of the Australian bushland. Its portrayal of abuse and self-discovery is both powerful and moving, making it a standout read in contemporary young adult literature.

This young man is having a tough upbringing in the Australian outback. His father Leon is a tough man , but thankfully Chris has his art and love of horses to keep him going. A good adventure story, thanks for the review.

The way the review describes Chris’s life—new school, abusive home, twin brothers who bully him—makes me think of how many young people carry silent battles. What caught my attention is the sense of place. The Australian bushland isn’t just a backdrop—it sounds like it mirrors the wildness and unpredictability of what Chris is going through emotionally. I’m curious to see how the natural world shapes the tone of the story.

:tiphat: The "Racing the Wild" review effectively covered all the dynamics of this adventure novel. The author inserted an unexpected aspect of the twin rivalry between Chris and his twin brother. The review sparks an interest in reading the story, which is set during the transitional teenage period, furthering an exploration of balancing fear, love, and resilience in the face of circumstances. The reviewer detailed the story without exploding the plot and gently touched on the geographical aspects of the rugged Australian outback.

"Racing the Wild" by Rosanna Andrea Feeken is a raw, emotional YA novel about a boy, a horse, and the fight for freedom. Set in the Australian bush, it blends adventure, abuse survival, and the healing power of art and friendship. Congratulations on being BOTD!

Good review! Reading the sample and your review made me feel empathy for this young boy, Chris. He is leading a very difficult life with his twin brothers and his father constantly on him. Hopefully, things will work out for this young man.
