I have read the sample, but it appears the book has a slow introduction. I hope that David and Teri will find a way to stay in touch when the visit comes to an end. It is good to read that the minor errors did not detract from the reading experience, but the contradictions might need some rectification or clarification. Overall, thanks for the review, @Annelore Trujillo.

This sounds like a really cute book, but I must say the innacurate characterization mentioned (the ages) is something I really hate, I don't really enjoy it when small children act way more mature than they should be, I don't know why but it's something that absolutely throws me off, so I am actually quite happy the review comments on that. Besides that the book does sound like a nice read.

Reading about an 8 year old boy meeting a girl that he wants in his life forever, sounds fascinating. The adventures they have sound interesting. Light, fun books are entertaining and relaxing.

The Mystery of The Hillside Motel" by David Murray Anderson, a book that features a eight year old boy and adventures in a motel. It will interesting to read about how he met Teri and the things they discovered together.

"The Mystery of the Hillside Motel" sounds like a sweet and intriguing story. I’m really interested in seeing how David and Teri’s friendship develops and what mysteries they uncover. The mix of adventure and emotion, especially from a kid’s perspective, makes me want to pick it up and read it myself. Congrats BOTD!

Even if 'The Mystery of The Hillside Motel' is about a kid finding out about strange things happening in a motel where he stayed with his parents, I would only recommend it to adults and young adults. I like the colors on the cover; they indicate it is a mystery book.

Congrats on BOTD.
"The Mystery of the Hillside Motel" is the combination of feeling and thrills, particularly as seen by children. It wants to know how Teri and David's connection grows and what secrets they discover.

A lovely and honest review. I like the fact that the reviewer loved the book, as well as saw faults and opportunities for a better write up.

Thanks for this detailed review! I like that the story mixes genres like romance, adventure, and even a bit of paranormal; it sounds like a fun mix. I do see what you mean about the characters seeming older than eight; that might make it feel less realistic. Still, it sounds like a quick and enjoyable read, especially for anyone who likes light mysteries with a bit of heart.

Any storyline with a hint of friendship that my turn into something more, is a must read for me despite the book indicated for a younger audience. I have to know what happens, and how the story unfolds. Beautiful and detailed review of the book.

Definitely not my cup of tea, because despite the somewhat interesting plot, I don't enjoy reading about such young characters. It is even quite disturbing to read in the review that "There is a bit of romance, some adventure, and a hint of paranormal happenings" and know it is about eight-year-old kids, but thank goodness "There is no sexual content," but nonetheless I prefer to skip the book. Still congratulations with BOTD!

Fit for a variety of ages, today's BOTD follows young David and Teri as they explore a motel and uncover secrets of the surrounding area. Readers who enjoy engaging mysteries mixed with elements of the paranormal, romance, and adventure should give this one a try. Thanks so much for your helpful review! I plan to add it to our classroom book recommendations board. :-)

Sound likes an interesting book for those who it might interest but not something I would like to read because an 8 year old and love shouldn’t be in the same sentence. Congratulations on being BOTD.

The reviewer writes with clarity and balance, offering both praise and constructive criticism in a fair and thoughtful tone.

The plot sounds accessible and engaging across age groups. A light and adventurous story that mixes friendship, young love, and just a hint of mystery. Making it a versatile read for both young and adult audiences. Congrats on BOTD.
