An adventure story about a 15-year-old boy "coming out of his shell and finding some self-confidence" while camping with his family sounds a captivating read for fans of young adult novels! Not my genre, so I will pass. Thank you for the detailed review!

I enjoyed your review and your writing style. I could almost taste the bologna sandwiches as well. I love that the author was able to create distinct characters and that Lib was able to find some self-confidence on the trip. It seems it might have been a bit too detailed and the side story not very helpful or interesting. However, I think this sounds like a great book.

I enjoyed your review of Welcome to Shadow Creek and have placed it on my "to read" shelf. I'm a city boy and my first experience of outdoor life was camping with the Boy Scouts. I didn't like it at first but it eventually learned to love it and led me to moving out of the city and now I'm a country boy!

Hey! This is one book my grandkids might get into. They are the perfect age for this type of story. I really appreciate the detailed review. You saved me alot of read time, and that is the purpose of reviews. Thanks.

I struggled to enjoy this book. While the style was poetic, the content was not relatable whatsoever for me. I'm not sure if it would be relatable for a teenage boy of today, either, since it takes place in the 60's with such an unusual main character. It was well-written, but definitely not my style.
