Bugs, Weeds, and Water by Evangeline Greene explores the importance of family, bond between families, love, friendship and the nurturing of children. Although the triplets' mother passed away and the whereabout of their father is unknown, aunt Flory raises them as though one of her own. I'd probably enjoy reading this book.

The title of the book and the storyline are different from what one would expect. It sounds more like one of those tales for children, and I do not really grasp the overview of the plot. Does the tilte, "Bug, Weed , and Water" have some significance on the triplet?

I love family stories like this story. I admire the character of Aunt Flory who take aside her own happiness for the sake of her nieces. I also want to know how the triplets are able to live without the guidance of their father. Congrats BOTD!

The book focuses on the triplets: Zoey Mae Starling, Ruby Rose Starling and Celeste who are brought up by their Aunt Flory as they were orphaned at birth. The title is symbolic referring to the stable food for the girls that has become their favourite dish at Aunty Flory's home. The parsley are the bugs, noodles the weeds while the water is the broth. They termed it so after making a frog pond with their neighbour Mr Martin Nelson and the wife Mrs Ellen Nelson. They realises the ingredients for a good fish pond was bugs, weeds and water. Mr. Nelson is a biologist who is always happy to share his time with the girls. The girls have been brought up to love nature as they feed birds everyday. The eldest of the triplets Zoey is in dire need of finding their father. She questions the aunt and is not satisfied she is not aware of his whereabouts they also listen to her conversation with her friend Verna. Zoey also plans to ask Mrs Nelson of the same but is interrupted by Ruby. Ruby argues that they have Aunty Flory and her answers are a satisfactory. They also spend time at point Pelee National park.

If we all agree that family goes beyond being related by blood our world will be a lot better. I'll love to find out more about the sisters. Thanks for the review.

I thought this is a children's book! Someone needs to change the book cover. Anyway, this book looks really inspiring. I wonder how the story goes. Oh well, I'll definitely add this to my shelf. Thanks a lot!

I’m glad to see what seems to be a positive portrayal of an untraditional family (girls being raised by their aunt after their mom dies and their dad can’t be found). Such families should be shown in a better light more often. This sounds like a great coming-of-age book. Thank you for the helpful review.

Wow, an interesting plot. This review reminds me of my own experience living with my aunt, which is quite similar to this one. I love this book and would get a copy for myself.
Congratulations on your BOTD.

This is a heartwarming wholesome story for kids of all ages. Just when I thought raising one kid is hard enough, raising triplets sounds chaotic! I hope each of them has a personality that's distinct from the others, and I wish they'll know more about their father. Congratulations on the BOTD.
