I am not sure it is correct to label this book as historical fiction, because "mixing dreams with reality" in my opinion is more about fantasy. To be honest, I probably wouldn't risk to buy such book, but thanks for gifting it there is a good chance I will read it anyway. Congratulations with BOTD!

The best thing is that the storyline is captivating and interesting. I learn that we human being grow and change from innocent children into adults who have to face the harsh realities of the world. Just the fact that the protagonists are orphans already means that the rest of their lives will probably be influenced by this. It :) :) :) was worth reading

I’m looking forward to digging into this book to find out the secrets of the siblings other set of grandparents and the connection of Star’s dreams. There are many themes such as racism, friendship, love, and family and they are relatable and timely.

Having a vivid imagination myself, I can relate to how these dreams and imaginations can shape one's life and world view. I'd love to read Star's story. Thanks for your review.

This book doesn't seem like it fits me well, as it is a coming-of-age story. I like the names Star and Thatcher; they are cute and catchy. Thanks for the review!

This is a book written for young adults and it focuses on self-growth, friendship and family. This unique child has a vivid imagination and she creates fantasy worlds. The two siblings, Star and Thatcher, were orphaned at a young age so they live with their grandparents. When the grandparents get to old and have health issues the two siblings are sent to live with the other set of grandparents. They have issues bonding with the second set of grandparents and deal with issues like racism, friendship, love and family. A very good review and I plan to read the entire book.

A story about growing up and facing life's realities,a growing up which entails more of maturity of the mind than that of addition of age. It has a good plot, and the characters are beautifully created. The review itself is balanced, direct, and highly insightful.

I enjoy books that explore inter-personal relationships, and the ever changing dynamic that exists in every family is delved into deeply in this novel. This is a great review which I really appreciated reading - thank you!
