I am curious to see what adventures Terri and David find in The Mystery of The Hillside Motel. The review indicates this book is well-rounded; it has intrigue, young love (puppy love?), and an interesting ending! Thank you for the review.

Wow. Thank you for your honest review. The book's cover already screams mystery and adventure. I agree it seems odd to have an 8-year-old kid as the main character in a young adult genre. Why do David's parents decide to stay in the motel if his grandparents live in the area? Is Teri even real? What kind of plot twists are waiting?

David and Teri's story feels like love at first sight, but a children's version. I would like to know what the kids found out about the motel. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Nice review! The book sounds interesting, and I'm expecting some sort of mystery to unfold at the motel, given the title. I'll have to decide whether the book is worth reading, considering all its issues. Thanks for the review!

'Official Review: The Mystery of the Hillside Motel' by David Murray provides an overview of the main features of the young adult book. It has an illustrative introduction. This is a story about eight-year-old David and his adventure while his family stays at the Hillside Motel. The book is light and fun. It contains elements of romance, adventure, and paranormal happenings. Finally, it was great to learn that the story is about friendship!

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. David visits with his granddaughter and shares a story of his childhood when he was eight years old. He tells about one of their family's long trips to his grandpa's house, with stops along the way. The stop at the Hillside Motel is where he met his future wife, Teri.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review! I really appreciate your honesty about the characters feeling a bit too mature for their supposed age—it's something that can definitely pull readers out of the story. That said, I love how you highlighted the unique blend of genres and the accessibility for a wide age range. The mix of romance, adventure, and even some paranormal elements sounds really appealing, especially with a nostalgic motel setting. I'm also glad to hear the narrative from David’s perspective was executed well—that can really bring a lot of emotional depth. Despite the flaws, your review convinced me this might be a charming and worthwhile read!

This looks like a nice easy to read book. Hopefully with another round of editing the minor errors will be fixed. In not a big fan of child romances so I think I will give this one a miss.

David Murray's 'The Mystery of the Hillside Motel' is a charming story that perfectly captures a child's first crush and the excitement of uncovering mysteries during a summer vacation.
